SIA Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) has been developed and is awarded by Highfield Qualifications.
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Close Protection Operative and must be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualification requirements. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to continue to work in the following areas;
As a close protection officer – guarding people against physical assault or injury.
Learners must hold a valid Level 3 (RQF/QCF) (Level 6 (SCQF)) 3-day full first-aid qualification before they begin any close protection training. Learners should present their first-aid certificate to their training provider before they start training. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. If you require this qualification, we can also offer you this – please let us know this when booking your course. Please note, when also adding on First Aid at Work, the course will be delivered over five days.
The course will take place over three days, with some self-study before the course begins. The course is delivered through a fully blended learning approach, utilising our different training channels, including face-to-face (in the classroom), and self-study/online learning.
