Possible lines of employment within this field include Data Protection Officer, Security Analyst, Ethical Hacker, Virus Technician, Penetration Tester.

The course is free provided you can supply evidence of earning under £16k per annum and be facing some learning barriers as defined by the Scottish Government.

As this is an online course, successful applicants can work at their own pace.

Mandatory units include Computer Architecture, Computer Networking, Computer Programming, Data Security, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Professionalism and Ethics in Cyber Security, Graded Unit 1 (examination).
Optional units are: Cyber Resilience, Internet of Things, Network Security Concepts, Penetration Testing and Social Engineering.

Each unit comprises of outcomes (between 2 and 5 for each unit) and there will be assessments/tests /exercises for each outcome that must be completed as we go. The graded unit is the final exam for the mandatory units.

You will receive video lectures which are related to the content of the outcome. You will then be expected to research for self-study purposes. It is very important that delegates take the time to do their own research and maximise the time on this qualification.
